Terms of Use

Effective July 12, 2026

Plain-language summary: ScamReporter helps organize and review information. It is not law enforcement, a law firm, an exchange, or a recovery service. A submission does not guarantee filing, action, or recovery.

1. Agreement

These Terms govern your access to scamreporter.xyz and any report you submit to ScamReporter. By using the site or submitting a report, you agree to these Terms and acknowledge the Privacy Notice. If you do not agree, do not submit information through the service.

2. What the service does—and does not do

ScamReporter provides an independent intake process for suspected cryptocurrency scams. We may review, organize, contact you about, or refer a report when we believe doing so is appropriate and consistent with your consent.

We do not promise to forward any report, meet any filing deadline, obtain a response, freeze funds, identify a person, start an investigation, provide legal representation, or recover losses. The service is not legal, financial, tax, cybersecurity, or law-enforcement advice and does not create an attorney-client, fiduciary, agency, or confidential-source relationship.

3. Emergencies and official reporting

Do not use this site for emergencies. Call 911 or your local emergency number if anyone is in immediate danger. You are responsible for reporting directly to agencies, exchanges, banks, insurers, or other organizations and for meeting their deadlines. Links on this site are provided for convenience and do not imply affiliation or endorsement.

4. Eligibility and authority

You must be at least 18 to submit a report. If you report for another person, including a minor, you represent that you have lawful authority to provide their information, evidence, and consent. Do not impersonate another person or submit information you are not authorized to share.

5. Your submissions

You agree to provide information that is accurate to the best of your knowledge and to distinguish facts from assumptions. You may not submit unlawful, threatening, defamatory, fabricated, malicious, infringing, or knowingly misleading content; malware; or evidence obtained unlawfully.

Never submit seed phrases, private keys, passwords, PINs, one-time codes, full Social Security numbers, or exact dates of birth. You are responsible for reviewing and appropriately redacting uploaded copies while safely preserving unedited originals.

6. Permission to process and share

You grant ScamReporter and its service providers limited permission to host, copy, review, format, transmit, and otherwise process your submission to operate and protect the service. When you select the law-enforcement sharing consent, you also authorize disclosure of the report, evidence, and contact details to relevant authorities and organizations as described in the form and Privacy Notice.

You retain ownership of content you lawfully own.

7. Prohibited conduct

You may not probe or disrupt the service; bypass access or upload controls; automate abusive submissions; use the site to harass, retaliate, extort, or falsely accuse; or use information from the service to facilitate fraud, theft, or unauthorized wallet access.

8. Availability and changes

We may reject, remove, preserve, or stop processing a submission, and may change, suspend, or discontinue the service, when reasonably necessary for safety, security, legal compliance, capacity, or operations. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability or permanent storage.

9. Disclaimers

To the extent permitted by law, the site and service are provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of accuracy, availability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, or outcome. Nothing in these Terms excludes a warranty or right that cannot lawfully be excluded.

10. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, ScamReporter and the site operator will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, lost funds, lost data, lost profits, or missed reporting opportunities arising from use of or inability to use the service. This limitation does not apply where prohibited by law.

11. General terms

If a provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect. A delay in enforcing a term is not a waiver. Applicable law governs without displacing any mandatory consumer protections that apply to you. We may update these Terms; the effective date identifies the current version.
